About
When: 9PM CET Purpose and Focus: This Bible study will be conducted from a perspective that is not neutral or secular. Instead, it is dedicated to exploring and deepening our understanding of: 1. Our Creator God: Who sent His Son, Yeshua (Jesus), to die for our sins. We believe that through faith alone in Yeshua alone, by grace alone, we can attain everlasting life and enjoy His presence forever. 2. His Word: The Bible, as the inspired Word of God. 3. Application: How Biblical teachings apply to our lives. Topics: • We are doing the Gospel of Mark. Method of Study: • Each participant will read a commentary alongside carefully reading the Biblical text. We will then discuss the passages we read. • Our goal is to balance depth with breadth, diving deep into certain topics while covering key ideas and a substantial portion of the text. • While our primary focus will be on the New Testament, we will also refer to the Hebrew Bible and Jewish backgrounds where relevant, incorporating our Hebrew language skills. Faith Context: • All are welcome, regardless of personal convictions. • This study is conducted from my personal faith perspective, aiming to honor God. Here are some key points of view from which I approach: o Trinity: I align with the Nicene Creed (https://www.usccb.org/prayers/nicene-creed). o Scripture: I uphold the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy (https://reformed.org/historic-confessions/the-chicago-statement-on-biblical-inerrancy/). o Sexuality: I agree with the Nashville Statement (https://cbmw.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/The-Nashville-Statement.pdf). o Statement of Faith: I subscribe to the doctrinal statement of Chosen People Ministries (https://www.chosenpeople.com/our-mission/doctrinal-statement/), with a note on my uncertainty about original guilt, as I lean towards the belief that all are born with a sinful nature and thus inevitably sin. These guidelines are not set in stone, but I will endeavour to inform you, if something changes.
